Not Your Typical ProLife Epiphany

On June 19th 2011, my older brother, Lloyd, and my 22 year old nephew, Steven, were suddenly awoken, then brutally murdered in cold blood with a pickaxe to their heads.  My sister-in-law, Dixie, was also murdered the same way as she lay sleeping soundly in her bed. This horrible crime happened in the middle of the night, in the silence of the darkness, in the security and warmth of their own home.

A few months before I received the news that they were murdered, I had started to volunteer at the local pregnancy resource center in my home town of Clovis, New Mexico.  Needless to say, I put my volunteer work on hold while helping our family get through the trauma and follow the investigation.

Although we still do not have any answers or lead in this "cold case", I knew the one thing I needed to do is forgive the person(s) who did this to our family.  It was then that God showed me a vision of unborn babies being murdered in the most secure place; in the warmth and safety of their mother's womb. I was astonished at the parallel.

In March of 2012, Susanna Gonzales, executive director of the center, nudged me again to get involved and so I did. After becoming the admin of their Facebook page and getting out info for their first 5K fundraiser, it was a huge success!

As the admin of their page, I started to do some research on abortion.  Although I have always been pro-life in name only, now I found myself questioning my title:  "Am I pro-life?"  "What is pro-life?"

I'd been a Born Again Christian most of my life. I was the only girl of ten children and a PK -- a preacher's kid, all my life.  I got pregnant at 16 ½.  My baby's life was sure.  At that age, I can honestly say I had no clue there was such a thing as abortion.  My son just turned 32 years old on June 18th.

I have now found my cause. I am not only pro-life, I am {A Voice For Unborn Babies!}  Murder is murder!
56,000,000 babies have been killed since Roe v. Wade in 1973 in their mothers' womb against their will by being aborted.  That's a parallel I cannot sit by and be silent about.

Wow! I am encouraged by your response to this tragedy. I am reminded of Romans 8:28 when I read this. Thank you for your service to our Lord and the unborn. May God bless the work of your hands with much fruit.
